Stumbling through the alleys and street markets of China, you can almost smell the wok hai, breathe in the spices, taste the msg. It’s a place I’ve never been but a world I know. My parallel universe me still lives in that long demolished shabby Seoul suburb. The me who didn’t come to England, who grew up in the Far East, who’s bored of sucking up street noodles every day and hankering for an exotic Cornish pasty or something.
